Principal Interior Designer & Founder Mom of 2 | Artist | Outdoor Enthusiast

Andrea Meats is the Principal Interior Designer and Founder of Animas Ridge Interiors; with over a decade of experience designing thoughtful, high-performance environments across commercial and residential sectors. Her background spans healthcare, hospitality, education, corporate offices, and refined homes for young families; work that requires both technical precision and deep empathy.

Andrea earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a CIDA-accredited program. She began her career at an architecture firm in Denver, collaborating on complex commercial projects across Colorado and the U.S. This foundation continues to shape her collaborative, detail-driven approach.

While commercial work built the foundation of her expertise, the evolution of her practice followed the evolution of her life. After becoming a mother, Andrea founded her own firm to align her professional work with her values; creating space for both family and deeply meaningful design.

Inspired by alpine landscapes and a lifelong practice of ballet, Andrea designs spaces with rhythm, balance, flow and a deep connection to nature. Every project is approached as a complete composition where functionality, materiality, and light work together to support healing, connection, and everyday life.

At Animas Ridge Interiors, design is both a discipline and an art form.

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time with family, time in nature and ballet.

Design Philosophy

We design for the human experience.

Every project begins with understanding how a space is used and how it should feel. Drawing from nature and the principles of rhythm, pause, balance, and intentional transition, we create interiors that are intuitive, calming, and deeply functional.

Every material choice, spatial sequence, and architectural moment is considered through alignment between people and place, movement and rest, clarity and comfort. Our background in healthcare, hospitality, and commercial design, and a deep understanding of family centered living, brings discipline, technical depth, and restraint to every project.

Core Values:

Community: We believe design should strengthen connection to one another, to place, and to the community. Our work is collaborative, intentional, and deeply respectful of the people and communities we serve.

Collaboration:
The strongest outcomes are created together. We partner closely with our clients, architects, contractors, suppliers and real estate professionals to ensure a seamless process from concept to completion.

Human-Centered Design: Every space begins with its people. We design with purpose, discipline, and empathy; creating environments that support healing, growth and emotional well-being.
